Hi, Please help.

If the Standard Error of Measurement is 3 on a General Elementary School Reading test, and if the national average is 52, SD = 7 (for 4th graders) and 60, SD = 7 (for 5th graders); assume that Mr. John’s 4th grade class improved their grade from 52 to 59 and Mr. Smith’s 5th grade class improved their scores from 52 to 66. What conclusions can you draw?

A. Mr. John’s class did show significant change over the year.

B. Mr. Smith’s improvement can’t be evaluated because the norms are inappropriate.

C. Gains in Mr. Smith’s class can be compared to gains in Mr. John’s class because we are dealing with a national achievement test and we are comparing each class to its own norms.

D. None of the above.
