Question

I have ordered and

ranked these numbers in the chart above.

Alpha = 0.05 and df = 3

Based off the critical values chart for the Kruskal Wallis test in the back of my book I’m getting 5.780 due to the fact that there are 3 group and 5 in each with a = .05.

However, while checking my work on CourseHero I noticed that the critical value is 7.81

Can you please explain where 7.81 is derived from?

Thank you in advance for your help!
