Brunelleschi used regular grids of squares to organize many of his buildings. Find a more modern building that also uses a grid or matrix to organize its plan, elevation, or section. Compare and contrast one of Brunelleschi’s designs to your modern structure. What does the grid “do” in each instance? In your opinion, does it help or hurt the design? Be sure to comment upon examples presented by your fellow students, as well.
